I can’t believe he gave up on me. Yes, my Canon 40D. I was covering an event last Saturday. They are special clients as this is the second time that I will be covering an important event in their life. This time, it is the first birthday of their son, Rosh.
I did not have any problems during the first part of the party and I was even able to have a pictorial shoot of the celebrant with his relatives and friends. But then during the second half of the party, my 40D started acting up and the shots it is producing are all black. When I removed the lens of the camera, I noticed that there is a crack inside the body of my camera. Good thing the aunt of the birthday celebrant has a DSLR camera. Luckily I found the courage to approach the aunt to borrow her camera so I can have something to use to go on with the coverage.
I sent my camera for repair at the Canon Service Center today. It will cost me P6500 on parts and labor to have it repaired. For now, I hope that my 40D will get fix as I love this camera (and besides as much as I want to buy a Mark II, I have no budget right now for that luxury camera).
